Ept Londra, Roberto Nulli e Gustavo Zito speranze azzurre per il Tavolo Finale

LONDRA – La più grossa emozione della giornata di Roberto Nulli? Non tanto finire tra i 24 player che domani si giocheranno l’accesso al final table dell’Ept di Londra.

Bensì, racconta il 35enne messinese, unico azzurro ancora in corsa assieme al campione di biliardo italo-argentino Gustavo Zito, “giocare per ore al tavolo con Phil Ivey, e fargli anche un bel bluff. Ho sempre sognato momenti così. SCOPPIO D’ASSI Amarezza che Rheem condividerà stasera con Claudio Cecchi. Il player toscano, infatti, seppur da corto era riuscito ad arrivare fino agli ultimi 26 giocatori in corsa. Poi si è affidato a due assi preflop per tentare un fondamentale raddoppio. Dall’altre parte ha trovato A-J. Flop 3-10-4, e double up che sembra ormai cosa fatta. Turn J. River J. Difficile trovare parole per descrivere cosa deve aver provato Claudio Cecchi nell’incassare le 19.000 sterline più amare della sua carriera.

SOLDI IN BANCA Nulla da rimproverarsi invece ha Salvatore Bonavena. Con un gioco solido e senza errori, unito a una serie di raddoppi quanto meno statisticamente improbabili (vedasi l’A-J contro A-Q di un corto e K-K di Alex Gomes e asso al river che gli ha fatto vincere un side pot più grosso del piatto principale perso) Mister Ept è infatti riuscito a issarsi fino al 38esimo posto portando a casa 17.000 sterline. Che dire, se non che una quota di Bonavena ha un rendimento più sicuro di un titolo di stato.

LA SPERANZA Detto che nelle prime fasi di gioco odierne, prima dell’eliminazione illustre di Ivey in 57esima posizione, sono usciti appaiati sia Emanuele Rugini che Luca Falaschi, rispettivamente 83esimo e 84esimo per 9.000 sterline, torniamo però a parlare dei due italiani ancora in corsa. Entrambi sono sotto media. Nulli ripartirà con 620.000 chip, Gustavo Zito sarà uno dei più short con 378.000.

“Oggi ci tenevo a finire la giornata, domani ce la giochiamo” dice Nulli. “Domani è un altro giorno, ci proviamo” gli fa eco Zito. E allora giochiamocela, domani. A partire dalle 12 però sulla strada degli azzurri non ci saranno dei giocatori qualunque. Nel field infatti ci sono giocatori di primissima fascia come John Juanda, 1,2 milioni, Joe Hachem 855mila, e giovani fortissimi come l’americano Chance Kortnuth, che dopo aver messo in difficoltà tutto il giorno il nostro nulli ha finito da chip leader a 2,3 milioni, o come l’inglese Matt Perrins, che ha già vinto un Ipt e domani partirà con 1,5 milioni.
